Mayflower Trailer Court Fire

 Mayflower Trailer Court Fire

At 3:04 PM on Sunday, November 16, Anchorage Fire Department Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a resident at 1001 Boniface Parkway reporting smoke venting from a trailer, it was unknown at the time if anyone was inside. Twelve units from the Anchorage Fire Department were immediately dispatched to the Trailer. Engine 6 was the first unit on scene (response time 3 minutes) calling this a working fire and made a fast attack to the fully involved trailer.  A search of the residence was completed, finding a cat and dog that were not able to escape the fire. No other injuries were reported. Red Cross was reported not to be needed. The fire was called under control within 12 minutes.

The Trailer is considered a total loss. Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained, adjacent trailers sustained minor smoke damage only.  Dollar amount of the damage is not known at this time.  The fire originated in the kitchen and the exact cause is currently under investigation.
