Twelve units from the Anchorage Fire Department responded to 8024 Duben Avenue in Muldoon at 10:15 AM this morning.

Engine 14 from the Tudor Road Fire Station was first on the scene and reported smoke from the microwave area but no obvious fire present. Crews pulled ceiling and walls in the kitchen area to extinguish any remaining fire in duct area behind the microwave.

Damage was estimated at $20,000 and the Alaska Chapter of the American Red Cross was requested to provide assistance for 1 adult and 6 children that will temporarily be displaced by the fire.
