Station 4 Grand Re-Opening
The Anchorage Fire Department and IAFF Local 1264 invite you to our grand opening celebration of Station 4. This new building replaces the facility that was originally built in 1970. Join Mayor Mark Begich, Municipal Manager Denis LeBlanc, Fire Chief Craig Goodrich, Representative Berta Gardner, and the IAFF 1264 Honor Guard for the public celebration.
The Grand Opening for the 14,000 square-foot facility will be held at 11:00 am on December 15, 2007. Station 4 is located at 4350 MacInnes St, just off Tudor Road. There will be refreshments and tours of the new station including the fire apparatus, views of the apparatus bays, and an inside look at firefighter living quarters.
Designed to accommodate AFD’s diverse work force, the new station incorporates private living quarters and allows for operational flexibility in meeting the department's current and future needs. The new station will house the Anchorage Fire Department's dive Team and Heavy Rescue apparatus and will accommodate three rotating shifts totaling about 30 firefighters, paramedics, and captains. Station 4 crews serve as first responders in an emergency for residents of Midtown Anchorage.
