Vehicle Fire Ignites House

Just before 9pm last night a resident from a home on Staedem Drive dialed 911 and reported their vehicle on fire which was parked next to their residence.  Engine 6 was first on location and advised the vehicle had caught the residence on fire.  A working fire was declared and soon after the rest of the twelve unit response arrived.  The fire was rendered under control within thirty minutes.  Damages are estimated at $75,000 due to the total loss of the vehicle and one room of the residence.  The residents, a family of three, were displaced for the night.  The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
